The European Rupture focuses on the consequences of the end of the Cold War for defence sectors in Europe. It offers a theoretical framework supported by country case studies from both Western Europe and formerly centrally planned economies. My first book, based on the dissertation I wrote at Yale University, is currently under review. The manuscript, entitled "The European Rupture: A Critical Theory of Memory and Integration in the Wake of Total War," examines how memories of war on the continent acted as cognitive, motivational and justificatory resources for postwar integration. The first two chapters of this book are extremely illuminating, and effective analysis of how and why Liberal Democracy is failing.
